Easy magic to get started with

All of the tricks mentioned below are ones which I use every weekend in my “day job” as a professional magician. I have chosen the easiest ones to get started with to showcase here. *I do receive a small commission if you buy any of these, but I’m not suggesting them because they are expensive, in fact most of these are pretty cheap to buy.

1. Cups and Balls

The Cups and Balls is one of the classic magic tricks which can be really easy to get started with. The amazing thing about it is there is no limit to how advanced you can get with this trick – try looking up “Gazzo Cups and balls” on YouTube!

2. Magic Colouring Book

This is one of the easiest tricks to master – guaranteed to amaze small children any day of the week.

3. Thumb Tip

This has no limit to how creative you can get with it. An essential prop for any magician. You will need a silk to go with this to get started.

4. Svengali Deck

Surprise! Magicians have special packs of cards which help them do their tricks. There is a lot you can do with a normal deck, but the Svengali makes it really easy to find any chosen card.

5. Change Bag

Make anything soft disappear or change into something else with the Change Bag.

6. Colour Changing Scarves

Fast but effective. Magic which happens before your eyes, and is easy to do.

7. Zig Zag Pencil

A smaller version of cutting someone in half which works by its-self!
